The E.T. West House, built ca. 1890 in the Queen Anne style, is conveniently located in Darlington's 'West Broad Street Historic District'. The neighborhood is known locally as 'Reese Row' for the self-taught master builder and architect, Lawrence Reese, who built many of the homes in the historic district. Known for his craftsmanship and signature architectural details, this home is an excellent example of his skill. The property preserves an abundance of its historic character, including stained glass windows, soaring 12-14 foot ceilings, 8 fireplaces with mantels, butler's pantry, and original flooring throughout much of the home. The primary bedroom is on the first floor and includes an ensuite with claw-foot tub. There are also two surviving historic rooms off the back of the home that are ready to be converted into an office, studio, or guest apartment. Situated on a deep, spacious lot, the property also offers a carport with space for 3 cars. The two-story front porch was completely rebuilt in 2025 and the roof installed in 2022 giving the next owner a headstart on the restoration of this historic treasure. Killings, Drive by’s, Missing people etc. No Economic future opportunities available here. Low pay, sparse hours and disgruntled employees. Walmart only option for minimum shopping. No major Resturant’s. McDonalds and Sonic fast foods suck. No activities for interest of the Youngsters. SAD Florence and Hartsville are leaving them in the wind on growth, development and entertainment.😞"
