They practically cram religion down your throat . The student body is almost 60% Amish so no one contests when administration starts ceremonies with "let us pray..." My 2nd grader shouldn't be feeling ashamed because we are not Christians. I get that it's the demographic of the area, but it is not ok for the teachers, office staff, and administration office to actively push Christianity the way they do. For example they offer weekly bible classes. Yes you can elect for your child to not go, but when 1 or 2 have to stay in the classroom and everyone else gets to walk next door to the church for stories and coloring, those 1 or 2 kids feel pretty sad and outcaste. It's segregation! And since Christianity is so prevalent on a daily basis, the playground talk is often right out of the book of exodus. Seven year old's, preaching tales of hell fire and dam nation... To my daughter... At school. This is not something that she should be having to deal with. It's school! Let my little one learn how to multiply and read and love school and learning. Save the religious activities for personal time, as Religion is a personal decision. The school district needs to reel this situation in, in a major way.
