7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son came to PS 295 this year as a fifth grader. Our family moved from out of state, and we were a bit nervous about how his first year would go given the many changes he was facing. Now that the school year has ended, I am so grateful we found PS 295 and feel compelled to write a glowing review about our experience. My son made tremendous academic and social growth this year because his teachers are genuinely invested in the well-being and success of their students. He developed a love for new subjects and gained confidence in his ability to persevere and advocate for himself. He has told me that he feels respected by all of his teachers, which has inspired him to challenge himself and strive for even greater success. As a parent, I have also felt supported and respected by the staff, especially by his teachers and the parent coordinator. When I requested additional academic support and evaluation, my concerns were thoughtfully considered and addressed in a timely manner. Everyone makes themselves accessible, creating a welcoming environment that truly feels like a partnership.I would recommend PS 295 to any family looking for a smaller, community-focused, hands-on learning experience for their child.Parent Review1mo ago17 Reviews - John Jay School for Law

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter did not get the resources for her IEP, instead the teachers FAILED her without reason because they were “unaware of her IEP”. Secondly, my daughter got bullied out of the school due to her being gay. The students don’t each lunch in the cafeteria due to the fights and how unsafe it is. Do NOT send your child here.Parent Review4mo ago7 Reviews - New Voices School Of Academic And Creative Arts

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son is a 7th grader at New Voices and we have been very happy with the school. He made friends right away, the teachers are phenomenal, and there is a variety of interesting majors.Parent Review10mo ago9 Reviews - Check out schools near 237 17th St.

"Greenwood is so beautiful. The only thing I hate abt here is that it’s so expensive and it’s so hard to find a place to park ur car. But if you have the money and patience to own a car and find a parking space this is the right place for you. There’s rlly good nearby schools I attended ps295 and new voices which is in the same building and I absolutely loved my time there"

"There is a nice playground. Many elementary and middle schools. That’s all. No ice cream places or toy stores in the area . It’s dirty everywhere. Some People are nice , but there are loud music and noisy in the night sometimes. "

"Green word is such a beautiful place to live. It’s not noisy might be cause of holidays but that’s it. Safe at all hours and days. Close to transportation. I live near 5th ave and always take the R or B63. But it is a hard time to find a place to park your car and it is expensive but if you have the money and have patience with finding parking then this is the right place for you. And it’s close to schools if you have kids "

"You cannot take your dog into Greenwood cemetery so I’m commenting on the person who said people don’t pick up after their dogs in the cemetery. In general, many people do not pick up after their dogs past 6th Avenue down to 4th between 15th street and 23rd. It’s a problem. We have dogs and continually pick up after people when our dogs go in an effort to keep our streets clean. "
