Community Description

When something is done especially well, it's smart to make the most of it. That's why MainVue Homes is maximizing its Elkington neighborhood exclusively with newly designed luxury townhomes - each melded magnificently at the edge of northeast King and south Snohomish Counties. Elkington's location is as appealing as its two trend-setting plans which sit at a crossroads of conveniences: Bothell's bustling Canyon Park, North Creek and Thrasher's Corner. Just minutes to Interstate 405, bus transit and Park and Ride lots, Elkington is a virtual ground-zero for easy commutes to technology, healthcare, aerospace and other leading employers. Hop onto highways 9 and 522 to Mill Creek, Kenmore and Kirkland or follow backroads to University of Washington Bothell and Cascadia College. Within its own neighborhood, meanwhile, Elkington backs up to open space and an inviting area with park benches, picnic tables and a charming gazebo. Nearby, explore old-town Bothell's charm with its historic tree-lined pedestrian-friendly boulevard. Indoors, the old Anderson School is now McMenamins - with a boutique movie theater; indoor and outdoor dining and pubs with warming fireplace and firepit features; and its tropical themed indoor North Shore Lagoon swimming pool. A few blocks away from here, Bothell Landing hosts all flavors of Americana Fourth of July festivities. Year-round, traverse the bridge linking its boat-themed playground to 9. 5 paved and nature-kissed Sammamish River Trail miles for walking and bicycling - a direct route to neighboring Woodinville's wine country.

"Most of residents here are owner occupied and not rental property. Which owner would take care the house better than tenants.and it’s very safe here, I had many times forgot to close my garage door overnight, but nothing happened "
  • Huang913
"Many people walk dogs no matter rain or shine. Most of them do put leashes on. They don’t talk to other dogs owner"

  • David camps
"Great place, but super expensive in the last month increase everything here, food, rent and taxes in general"
  • Karla Maggard
"People drive too fast for the size of the streets. Sometimes, I worry for the safety of the great number of people that use the sidewalks on a regular basis."
  • Crow0138
"There are fun events downtown Bothell year round like the Main Street Trick or Treat, art and music events, beer festival, 4th of July parade, etc "
  • Trulia User
"Community serve day to improve landscaping at public schools. Many church events invite the whole community."
  • Nancy F.
"Too many people and over priced homes. School district great. Too much traffic. Moved because of all this."
  • Trulia User
"I have lived here for 18 years and find that people keep to themselves, nice and quiet not many kids."
  • Trulia User
"Sports and family events that bring people together and build a sense of community. That’s why I like living here."
  • Trulia User
"Bus stop close by, multiple park and ride locations within a couple miles. HOV hot lane dedicated on and off ramp within a couple miles."
  • Trulia User
"I have lived in the area for about 4 years and have never had not even one issue with bullying at all be schools, no drug issues, no homeless, my car or house have never been messed with. I love it here"
  • Cruzship99
"I have lived here for 25 years and the neighbors are friendly. We used to have 4th of July parties & Labor Day parties in one of the neighbors driveway. We still have 5 original neighbors. Neighbors are respectful, helpful, keep their yards neat and still have get together."
  • Mumtaz C.
"Safe and short, inner streets are busy not wide enough for future expansion rest is fine. Exit is very busy "
  • Dave E.
"Suburban vibe with good freeway access to either 5 or 405. Good access to parks and open space. Plenty of options for dog walkers."
  • Jackie H.
"painstakingly commute to Seattle. highway congested in the morning and evenings and public transit has insufficient parking. "
  • Brynnamariee
"family neighborhood with a large busy street with terrible traffic. great school district and veryneasy bus line."
  • Alexis P.
"I work 2.7 miles from my home. There are 5 stop lights between here and my work, and most of them take several long minutes to change. There is a light that sometimes takes a full 15 minutes to get through because of the timing of the lights. Otherwise the area and commute are nice. "
  • Snbbrown18
"Close to 405 freeway. Drive into downtown Seattle. Traffics spikes during rush hours but a quick commute off hours. "
  • Rustynpclark
"good schools, great location if you like being close to the city and country side. lots of parks and trails"
  • Madsnme
"The community is unlike any other. People who have lived here for 10+ years, stay because they know that if they need help, they’ll get help from the rest of the people who live here. "
  • Jackie H.
"Seattle traffic is highly congested. Public transportation is not convenient as transit parking is inadequate to support current needs."
  • Mark B.
"It's a nice neighborhood with friendly neighbors. lots of adults watching their kids. Animal friendly as well."
  • Knappster
"Normal Seattle traffic or use park and ride that is a few miles away. There isn’t a bus stop within walking distance "
  • Curtknutsen
"No real events, just a bunch of nice neighbors. I had a large Christmas light show but will be moving away this year"
  • Vanessaretallick
"Bothell is a great family neighborhood that is expanding to offer more for everyone. There’s new shops, restaurants and activities while still maintaining its family roots. "
  • Axana C.
"I see lots of dog owners taking their dogs for walks. And there’s always parents passing by with kids, or people jogging/walking doing exercises up and doing the hill. "
  • Ruben H.
"It quiet and well kept, the neighbors are nice and get along well. There easily accessible places like restaurants, shops, and bus stations"
  • Krista B.
"I have lived in Bothell for 18 years. It’s a nice place to live. Most people are friendly, very family oriented neighborhoods. My only complaint is that there is an excessive amount of speeding on a main road right next to my house & I have contacted the Bothell police NUMEROUS times over the years and they do Nothing about it. I fear it will take a fatal accident before they take action. Kirkland police seem to take traffic issues more seriously. "
  • Angela F.
"The Neigbors and the peaceful place is a good place to live here, and the big yards and the school are near "
  • Vanessaretallick
"Younger children should be met part way or chaperoned their entire walk to and from school. Playing in the neighborhood is safe but parents should still supervise. "
  • Vanessaretallick
"There are nearby art fairs, fundraisers, summertime concerts, outdoor movies. These are my personal favorites "
  • Tony B.
"Block party. Super fun, great bands, great beers. Not a bad price for what you get at all. I love Bothell and all it has to offer these days."
  • William C.
"Lot of space to walk dogs and lot of green belt areas . The side walks are also well maintained and safe "
  • Cyndi M.
"Love the community feel here. Lots of great restaurants and shops. Downtown Bothell has been renovated and it’s a fun place to relax and enjoy the community fun!"
  • Mooretwin
"There are sidewalks, lit streets and doggy poop bags at all mailboxes to ensure poop pick up. The houses are close together so you hear dogs bark"
  • Courtney M.
"lots of very dog reactive dogs left in yards or at least have constant access to the yard to be able to flip out whenever you walk by their fence with your dog on the sidewalk. maybe that's just the immediate neighbors around us. "
  • Chuck Bungles
"We have neighborhood swing parties, and Hawaiian barbecues all the time. Best neighbors ive ever had!"
  • Nvchrysalis
"Nice quiet neighborhood. Mostly doesn’t have sidewalks - so difficult for nighttime walks. Pet friendly. 4 th of July you can watch fireworks for hours"
