It was a very difficult experience for my child when she was a student here. If your child has any type of learning disabilities they might struggle here. A few teachers were great , but some were absolutely unkind. Also, if you are low income, this might not be a good fit for your chid, and if you as a parent don't fit into the status quo , you will always be an outsider.

I used to go here during 2021-2024, If it was 14 year old me speaking, I would absolutely not send your children here... the racism is horrible , teachers having some allegations, and don't even get me started on the fights that used to happen every single week, LITERALLY EVERY SINGLE WEEK . . . I have a little sister, who is currently enrolled into this school and she says everything has gotten better, except for the racism . which she recently experienced.many students transferred to Houck or Judson because of the constant bullying and fights that used to happen there . other than that the staff members werent horrible, except for Mrs. Mcbeth, Mr Hall, and the horrible subs who had no clue what they were doing . I don't care if I get in trouble for reviewing a school I personally went through.

Our three children graduated from SSHS, heavily involved in music, academics, sports, drama, and languages. I've taught in nine colleges and high schools, and this is hands down the place I miss the most. The IB program offers truly incredible learning opportunities and the majority of students take at least one IB course. AP courses are also available. I missed the staff and community, so in my retirement I volunteer here, with college counseling. Design and building for a new Theatre, Music classrooms and practice spaces, and CTECH spaces has begun. We are loyal to this outstanding learning community and look forward to the adventures ahead.
