Middle school can be a tough time for both students and parents, but our experience at Yorkville Middle School has been nothing short of exceptional. My 14-year-old daughter is currently an 8th grader here, and to my absolute delight, she genuinely looks forward to going to school every single day. Finding a place where a teenager feels this comfortable and engaged is rare, and I credit the incredible staff and administration for creating such a welcoming environment! The teachers at Yorkville truly understand the middle school age group. They have the perfect balance between challenging the students academically and providing the grace and support they need as they grow. My daughter feels seen and valued in her classes. The teachers are approachable, and they go out of their way to make the curriculum engaging and relevant.

My children went to this school, we were very happy with their education. The teaching staff, support staff and office personnel were always supportive and overall I felt that they cared about my children. There were a lot of ways to be involved as a parent, either through directly volunteering in the classroom or library or with PTO. Problems were handled efficiently and quickly. Additional learning resources were available such as reading intervention, when my child was falling behind. They also offered advanced placement for my gifted student. My kids were happy and felt safe at school and have made life long friends. The only negative is the parking lot situation, it is difficult to get in and out quickly for pick up or drop off. But that problem is because there are not multiple entrances to the neighborhood in which the school is located. Also as we do not live in the direct neighborhood of the school, bus routes for this school are long. Overall I would absolutely recommend this school.
