The worst middle school I've ever experienced. I was ruthlessly bullied to the point students were sending me death threats. The staff didn't care whatsoever. Staff members hate their jobs, and they quit all the time. Teachers scream at students about their personal lives, and break down in tears. I even had a teacher who threw a thick history textbook at a student, he quit, he wasn't fired. My younger brother has been physically assaulted by a student for years, and the staff does not care whatsoever. I had to get in touch with news stations when I went here, anything to try to get justice. The High school is even worse, which I didn't think was possible. One year at the middle school, they shut down the bathrooms, and only let one student per grade go, including male and female students. It got so bad at one point I stopped going to school, and my best friend dropped out, that was in 7th grade. Teachers have a history of bullying students, and they don't get along with the other teachers. I wish I could go back in time and enter a different school system. I've been attending Griswold Public schools since 4th grade, and I can assure you this is the worst school system I have ever experienced. My stories could go on forever, but I'll keep it short, DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE.

My son has a great team of teachers including speech and love how involved they have been especially with covid . They send activities through mail or I pick up at school so I can bring home hands on activities for him to work with over computer screen . They really have been doing such a great job with “hybrid” learning online during these difficult times . Teachers have been very communicative with me on how to improve when needed and the school even offers programs like free lunch pick up as well during this time

I currently attend GHS as a junior. I chose to come here, being from a neighboring town, and I think I made the best choice! We're not the best school in the state by any means academically, but you won't find a nicer bunch of people. The teachers are great, the students are friendly, and I have never felt uncomfortable or out of place. It feels like family. There are plenty of opportunities both in academics and activities, but you will have to search for them a bit. We have a bunch of different art and tech classes in a variety of disciplines (everything from CAD to sewing to chorus), and I've found all my academic classes engaging. You can also take classes with VHS. There aren't a lot of clubs, but you are likely to find something you like if you search. The one thing I don't really like is that all the clubs meet at the same time, during school on Fridays, and so it is difficult to join more than one. The school spirit here is almost palpable, especially around homecoming and the massive spring musical. My advice to those looking at GHS: -Actually read the Program of Studies. If you don't, you will miss out on a lot. -Just give us a try! We don't bite too much, promise.
