According to the Summit Historical Society, a few grand estates were built on Summit’s Northside as ‘country homes’ during the early 1900s. Twin Beeches, like Twin Maples, now the stately Summit Fortnightly Club, was one such home. The present day Twin Beeches is a superbly finished Spanish Colonial Revival estate, an architectural tour de force, completely rebuilt in 2000 by the current owners. NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTo make more room in the elementary schools, Summit opened two Primary Centers for preschool &kindergarten. Those living in the Franklin, Washington and half of Lincoln Hubbard district send their children to the Wilson Primary Center for preschool and kindergarten. Those in the Brayton, Jefferson and the other half of the Lincoln Hubbard districts go to the Jefferson Primary Center. We have been at the Jefferson Primary Center for two years and have been pleased with it. The principal, Felix Gill, all the teachers and support staff have made these years wonderful for our child. Everyone is very dedicated to the children in their care. Summit kindergarten is a half day program, but there is a private program called Kinderquest (run by the Connection) offered on site at both Primary Centers that will make it a full day for the kindergarten kids. If you’re looking for really good academics along with excellent sports, this is your school.
