This is my kids first year going here. I have a 3rd grader in school #1 and an 8th grader in school #3. My kids have never been happier! The teachers and guidance counselors are amazing! They are on top of everything. My kids came from Eastampton school and it was horribly run over there. Here they get the extra help they need which was not even offered at their old eastampton school. They are now thriving and happy with great grades and a lot of friends. I cannot say one bad thing about this school!!

School 2 has become very political in my opinion. There does not seem to be a lot of teaching. Southampton School 2 has below standard goals that they fail to achieve. It is all about funding. Case in point all students now are required to go to RTI, even if they do not need it, they all have to do it. The bullying policy is not followed or backed up by teachers or staff, especially when you point out that a teacher is the source of the bullying. I have a child in school 1 and a child in school 2. We looked at our children's work throughout the year and thought the lessons were sub-par so we went and toured 3 other schools in our area this spring. I recommend that more parents should do this and look at where other schools are compared to Southampton. You will see Southampton schools are doing the bare minimum required by the state. Example: By the time a student in another school starts 6th grade they know basic American and world history as well as have firm knowledge and understanding of the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution. It is June 13 2017 and my 5th grade child knows none of it, never been taught any of it. Fact the 5th grade class is on chapter 4 of their American history book, that is teaching about native Americans. That right, chapter 4, with 7 days of school left for the year. The teachers are more interested in assigning homework and lessons they do not have to actually teach during the day. That is why we are pulling our children out of Southampton and moving them to another school. The issue is they both my children have a lot of work to do this summer to get caught up to where they need to be.

We had just moved to the district and a month in, my daughter suddenly began to suffer unexplained physical neurological issues. She was presenting with loud vocal and motor tics that would have been a distraction to the class and embarrassment to her. While trying to figure out what was going on with doctor appointments and such, my daughter missed a lot of school. I was in constant contact with her teachers, administration and counselor. Keeping them updated multiple times a week. I was trying to get her help to continue school at home while we were in the process of getting her medical care. Nobody at the school responded to my requests for help. Only one teacher contacted me to express concern for what my child was experiencing. Finally, the AVP and school board sends me a canned email about my daughter missing too much school. DUHH!! I was furious. Not one helpful person in the district. Not one. Fed up, I just unenrolled her from the school altogether. We eventually settled in a private school where the faculty actually cared and helped get my daughter back on track. She graduated this year. NHS student and secretary of the student council. Amazing how kids can recover when they have the support they need.
