The house was built between 1901 and 1920 by a pair of brothers who built majority of the homes in the downtown section of Front Royal. 229 Cloud Street was converted into a two unit dwelling sometime in the 1950's.
The unit on the ground level a is a 1100 sq/ft two bedroom 1 bath with direct access to the yard and basement. The top floor unit is an 800 sq/ft one bedroom with a spacious kitchen and bathroom. Both kitchens and baths were updated in 2011. The upstairs unit has electric heating and cooling installed in 2010. The washer and dryer are in the basement and shared between tenants.
