We invested more money into this home, that has a fantastic view, than we will ever come close to getting back out of it, but need to sell it, so our loss is your gain. The taxes, which include garbage collection, are low. There is police station/township building on the same block, a fire company 1 ½ blocks away, and the school bus stop is 1 ½ blocks away. Local Hospital is 2 miles away.
With respect to the electric, all wiring was replaced, and new electric service with circuit breakers. The Electric service is reasonably priced through New Castle Township.
With respect to plumbing, the majority of the plumbing was changed to plastic, with new shutoff valves.
With respect to the kitchen, it has new cabinets, a new electric range, a new microwave, a new dishwasher, new flooring, and a new ceiling.
With respect to bathrooms, the upstairs bathroom has a new toilet, sink, faucet, vanity, shower, cabinet, flooring and ceiling tile. We added a ½ bathroom in the basement, which has a new toilet, sink, faucet, vanity, flooring and ceiling tile.
With respect to the Deck, which has a fantastic view, the Deck is a little over 489 square feet, and is supported with 6”x6” beams, not 4”x4”.
With respect to heating, it has very economical coal heat, which also heats the water. We use about 7 tons of coal per year. We use an electric water heater In the summer. We also added a 30,000 BTU ventless propane heater, which is very inexpensive to use. Home is very well insulated, with lots of windows for free light and heat.
The basement is full length, and finished except for the ceiling. It has a nice size Attic, which can either be finished as another large bedroom, or be used for storage.
The sidewalk on the side of the house is new, and the sidewalk on the back is in excellent condition. There is off-street parking in the back for 4 cars, or a large RV.
The school district is a combination of Saint Clair Area (K-8) and Pottsville Area (9-12). There is a Penn State Campus; Alvernia University; McCann School of Business & Technology; Nursing School; and, Empire Beauty School, all within 1 to 5 miles.
Conveniently located- 36 miles to Bloomsburg; 40 miles to Reading; 48 miles to Allentown; 50 miles to Hershey; 54 miles to Wilkes-Barre; 66 miles to Harrisburg; 98 miles to Philadelphia; and 137 to New York City.
With respect to fun places, Hershey Amusement Park, Dorney Amusement Park, Knobles Amusement Park, Eagle Rock Ski Resort, Blue Mountain Ski Resort, Jack Frost Ski Resort, Montage Mountain Ski Resort, Camelback Mountain Ski Resort/Camelbeach Water Park, Big Diamond Speedway; Maple Grove Raceway; and, Rausch Creek Off Road Park are all without about 15 minutes to 1 ½ hrs. There are also local off-road events and thousands of acres in the area for riding ATVs, UTVs, dirt-bikes, mountain-bikes, and hunting and hiking.
