About this House

(Photos depicted with furnishings are for scale and size of unit only.) Large, bright kitchen with two entries (one a glass paned door) to the main room, appliances and a big single slider window. Kitchen includes refrigerator, electric full size range/oven and hood, granite countertops, stainless sink, ample counter to ceiling cabinets/under-cabinet storage, and a broom closet/pantry. Extensive in-unit storage includes two hall closets (one with shelves), and a roomy walk-in closet off of the main room with shelving, a built-in dresser, and a small window providing light and ventilation. All units have an intercom, doorbell and front door buzzer to screen visitors before allowing access to enclosed interior common hallway areas.
A private garage may be available to rent for an additional de minimis monthly fee under a separate month-to-month garage rental agreement. You will live steps away from a Bear Transit stop and the UC Berkeley campus, walking distance to local laundromats, BART, AC Transit stops, popular Gourmet Ghetto restaurants, cafes, local markets and merchants, and local hiking trails and other community spaces.
We take pride in our maintenance and three generations of Cal Bear owner-managers of this building. Many of our tenants are long term, some stay after matriculation, and all are collegial and respectful of each other's safety, privacy and property rights.
An initial virtual viewing is preferred; if qualified, the unit will be shown by appointment only to one masked applicant at a time, observing our building's Covid-19 safety protocols. Please DM, email or call the owner with any questions, or to request a nonbinding application to rent. You will receive a reply within several hours or less.

12 month lease to start, with potential option to renew or default to month-to-month. Security/cleaning deposit of $4,000, plus first month's rent to move in. Landlord pays for heat, recycling, trash removal, water and sewer. Tenant pays for gas, electricity, internet, phone, cable, and any other services. "I have been living at the cross of Virginia and Spruce for nearly 5 years and loved it. It's quiet, close to the university. 10 min walk from Downtown Berkeley BART, 3 movies theaters, Groceries (Safeway, Walgreens) and a lot of restaurants. Berkeley gourmet ghetto is 4 blocks away. In addition to that, you're very close to Berkeley Hills and Tilden park. Top neighborhood."
