Spring Lake Middle School is a good school in my opinion.

We are a newer family to the district (2 years in) and we were initially welcomed warmly in the beginning but not so much now. Specifically by the office admin lady Bridget. She is very mean, short, and disrespectful to myself and my kids. I am not sure what happened from the cheery spirit she had but this makes it hard when communications have to be had between the school and I. Everyone has bad days but this has been going on now for the last 7 months now. Academically- rigorous and good.Atmosphere/environment - If you are not rich or live on the bayou be prepared to not get more than the initial handshakes or conversations with the staff.

Holmes Elementary has been a wonderful school for our 3 children. They not only excel in academics, they offer programs such as BE NICE to promote a culture of including all children and families. Their school behavior expectations are clearly stated, posted and followed though on. This is a loving caring place to have your children a part of.

Our child transferred to SLHS before the start of their junior year and we saw great improvement with them academically over the next two years. SLPS's ASD programs are very effective and caring. We felt like our child was being taken care of in a way that allowed them to become better, not only academically, but as a young adult. The previous school system they were enrolled in left us feeling as though our child was tolerated but with some prejudice because of their ethnicity and ASD diagnosis. SLPS never felt that way. Our child graduated on time and with a good GPA. The programs that SLHS offered have had a large and direct impact even now, years later. We feel blessed to have been able to have our child attend school here.
