2 of my youngest family members go here, the older one is 6 and she loves learning and going to school but at this school she seems to struggle wanting to go sometimes which is unusual. She tells me about how kids are bullying her but when she tells the teachers they ignore her. We haven't had any calls of bullying either but she once came home with a bruise and said it was from a kid. I asked her if she told a teacher and again she tells me the teacher ignored her. I don't like the idea of a family member of mine getting ignored when there is clearly something wrong, so fairlawn you need to figure out how to listen to your students they matter just as much as you and your lives do too. Now onto the younger sibling who is 5. He has an umbrella diagnosis right now because he is on a list for testing but the doctors so fair think he's autistic. Ever since last year we've told the teachers, warned them about his behavior, and gave them some tips on trying to work with him but so far they have done barely anything to help with him. His teacher last year kept trying to play doctor and tell us what he IS and what he NEEDS even though we've been seeing doctors for him that seem to be saying the opposite than her but she wouldn't stop after we talk to her about it. They all have known he struggles but they still seem to ignore the fact and immediately get upset with him. This year even though it has just started has been so much more worse. We have been working with potty training him and it was going well until he went back to school. He kept having accidents and told his mom (who works while they're at school) that she has to come up and change him every time. When she tried telling them she can't they wouldn't take it for an answer, we've talked to a professional and they told us that she are not required to do that and the school can't make her do that. He has also gone through a growth spurt so when the teacher told his mom that his clothes are getting small she told the teacher that she was planning on going to get him clothes when she got paid, not even a full week later they call DCF there on her. The counselor called her today to have him picked up right before school was out because he was having a fit and instead of listening to what was written down to leave him alone for 5 mins to let him calm down she got in his face to try and calm him down so he started kicking and hitting her. She called his mom just to argue with him. They should be ashamed. 2/10
