"You need a car to get around. There aren’t many side walks so it’s hard to walk places and there’s not really public transportation. But we are close to major highways which makes commuting easy"
  • Bbertscha
"Roseland has lower property taxes, a small town feel and great recreation programs and excellent public K-6, middle and high schools. "
  • Bbertscha
"Roseland has the small town feel and the townspeople are caring and look out for friends and neighbors. The taxes are lower than most towns in Essex County. The grammar school (Noecker) and high schools are excellent and provide great opportunities for children to be successful and be accepted to the best colleges/universities. The recreational programs are cutting edge providing opportunities for kindergartners through 8th grade for baseball, basketball, soccer, dance, softball, hockey and lacrosse. "
  • Bbertscha
"Great elementary school(Noecker) and high ranked regional middle and high school(West Essex). Roseland has a small town feel and is known as a Tree USA town because of all the flowering trees each spring. There are 1 hour buses to NYC outside your door and the taxes are one of the lowest per household in Essex County. "
  • Kyle K.
"I grew up in this neighborhood on Park Street and it was great neighborhood to grow up in. After school all the kids flock to Park Street and actually play outside, yes even in the day of xbox they still play outside to this day. Cortlandt is a bit of a cut through street but there are 3 speed humps and no one really goes fast down the street. Kids will often ride their bikes down Harrison Ave. through Davenport and then cut through "the path" to get to the woods behind Noecker Elementary school to play after school as well. Overall a great town and area to raise kids. "
