About this House
Cabin for sale nestled in the northwestern mountains of Upper Enchanted Township, Maine. The cabin sets on 43± surveyed acres with beautiful hardwoods and softwood trees. The 22 X 32± off grid cabin has 3 bedrooms (2 down, 1 up) and a full bath. Some highlights of this wilderness camp are beautiful pine interior finish, cathedral ceilings in the living space, and a full cabin length covered porch to enjoy the views of Coburn and Bean Brook Mountains. While this cabin may be off grid and remote, you will not be roughing it in Upper Enchanted Township. A drilled well for water, a full septic system, gas heating, combination of generator electric and gas lighting and appliances, plus it comes fully furnished and ready to enjoy. What good is a nice cabin in the woods if it doesn't have a great piece of land to go with it? You owe it to yourself to see this amazing 43 +/- acres. From the road the lot steadily rises in elevation to the cabin location. At the cabin, the land levels out in front of a dramatic rise of nearly 200 feet of elevation. This geography is natural protection for the cabin from the northwesterly winter winds, yet still enjoys cooling summer breezes. The trees on this land are beautiful. A shelter wood harvest was done a number of years ago on the southerly slope leaving a nice stand of sugar maples. The slope behind the cabin is mostly large spruce until the ridgeline gives way to more maple and other northern hardwoods. Upper Enchanted Township is an unorganized territory in Somerset County. This is a region rich with wild trout ponds, large lakes, remote rivers and babbling mountain brooks while free from crowds of people. Avid hunters will enjoy the quality and diversity of the game in this region. An impressive moose population, some of New England's largest whitetail deer, black bear and bounteous flocks of ruffed grouse or ''PaHtridge'' as us Mainers like to call them.
