3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePlease don’t send your kids here please! They didn’t call the police neither the parents about school shooting, I’m glad everyone is safe. But they should let us know when someone in there has a gun on them. As parents we send our kids to school to learn. Not to feel uncomfortable and unsafe. The only people they called was school safety, no parent no LBPD was never called. There no updated information I’m not sure if I’m gonna let my child go to this school anymoreParent Review2mo ago7 Reviews - Wilson High School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTaught here for a number of years. Moved my own kids to Orange County because I didn't want them attending here. The administration was just horrible. The whole district is more worried about their reputation, looking good and garnering awards from no name organizations. The administration will post rules and policies but are no where to be found enforcing them. Long Beach does not seem to get rid of bad principals either. Instead they just shuffle them around to other sites. A colleague of mine called this the "dance of the lemons."Teacher Review1y ago18 Reviews - Alvarado Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI held Alvarado at a high standard. Unfortunately that is not the case any longer. We have a daughter with a learning disabilities. This is her final year and sadly the process in her transition to middle school was handled VERY POORLY. There was NO COMMUNICATION in regards to a major change that will SEVERELY IMPACT our daughter. With no one taking responsibility for "the ball being dropped". ABSOLUTELY disappointed in ALVARADO.Parent Review7y ago8 Reviews - Check out schools near 2180 Temple Ave.

"it’s nice like any other place that has the ups and down however, for the most part, people are friendly and neighborly. Issue is that some houses and apartment are oversaturated with tenant which causes a decrease of actual parking space on the street so parking is horrible. Worse than a lot of parts in LA."

"Long Beach is a great place for families, couples, and singles. People are very friendly in this city. I’m from the Bay Area in northern California and found that people in SoCal are generally more welcoming than in the Bay. "

"Cool area depending on time of day. It can be active at times during the weekends. The sunset view is stunning up on this hill. "

"Don’t move here. It is terrible living here. It’s very far from everything. There are no good restaurants and there is nothing ever going on"

"Long Beach is a big city with all that that implies good and bad. It’ll teach your kids to be street smart, which is not necessarily a bad thing, and there are a lot of fun things for kids to do and experience "

"There are many families in our neighborhood often walking with their kids in strollers, bikes and walking their pets too. There are two parks walking distance from here. You do have to be cautious though because there are also homeless people roaming sometimes and they set up tents on Anaheim, just always be aware of your surroundings. "

"We do have homeless activity on main streets (Clark, Los Coyotes, Stearns) and occasionally will see them passing through on neighborhood streets."

"Lots of parking and tons of friendly neighbors but avoid Wilton St. because there’s tons of registered pedophiles on that street. Cars don’t often get vandalized- it rarely happens. Don’t walk alone past 10pm. "
