The special education and life skills program sucks, I would not recommend this school, and the high school does not follow there anti bullying policy. They support there athletes and their students that come from big money.

This school make my kids feel like they have no one to talk to

I have two daughters who have had the opportunity for a great education at Southwest. One is now a very successful college student, and the other is in the 4th grade. My fourth grader struggled early on with keeping focused in school, and every teacher at each grade so far has reached out with ideas to help her improve. She has improved greatly, and has always brought home excellent grades. Teachers are very involved in students at Southwest, and the staff is "kids first" from the Principal to the lunch and aid staff. Several programs are presented school-wide each year with the latest being "kindness week". This had kids at all levels learning and using their creativity to participate in showing how being kind to everyone is how we should live in and out of school. There is a student my daughter's age who also has a special need, and this was discussed with the other children so that they could understand and help this student feel comfortable in the classroom. If you are looking for positive learning environment for your children where they will know teachers are there to put them first then to look to Southwest as the answer!
