We have had 3 kids go through and each has had a wonderful experience. Teachers & Staff work hard to get to know students.The school runs smoothly and the Admin couldn't be easier to work with. I would highly recommend Explorer Middle School.

I’ve been very disappointed with this school’s decision to allow a student club called Turning Point to operate on campus, distribute Trump propaganda, and promote speakers like Charlie Kirk. In my view, this organization spreads hate, division, and intimidation, not healthy civic discussion.What concerns me even more is that the school has already had to remove controversial content tied to this group—messages like “wear your MAGA hat to school today”—and there have been posts/supportive messaging around ICE, which is deeply inappropriate and polarizing in a school environment.I understand that people have different political beliefs. But school should not be a platform for political propaganda, especially in a diverse campus with students from many different nationalities and backgrounds. Allowing a club that repeatedly promotes inflammatory and divisive messaging is, frankly, outrageous and creates a hostile environment for students who already feel vulnerable.I would like to know:•What standards the school uses to approve and monitor student clubs•How the school is ensuring this club is not promoting harassment or political intimidation•What safeguards are in place to protect students from targeted or discriminatory messagingThis situation needs to be addressed.

This school hires teachers for their gifted education programs whose only experience with giftedness is having gifted children (as opposed to actually being gifted themselves), or having taken a minimal amount of training (which does not in any way equip them). Class sizes are extremely large. Teachers exercise minimal control over their classrooms.Ridiculous “project-based learning” assignments are handed out at the last minute, requiring parents to take significant effort to help their students complete in time. Minimal learning is accomplished as a result of these constant exercises in busywork.Bullying is rampant, out-of-control, and is tolerated and rewarded. Victims of violent bullying are blamed and made to feel that is their fault. School administration is grossly incompetent. Do not send your children here.
