Lack of leadership in this school. The right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. Teachers who lack interest in the students. There is a strong focus in spots and music but lack of focus in academics... that makes a lot of sense. We will have a bunch of dancing singing ball throwers running the country. Why don't we focus on adding foreign language, taking the funds in those ridiculous musicals and put it towards advanced curriculum or alternative curriculum such as gross anatomy, engineering, something that will make our students smarter? We moved here from the best school system in the States (Blue Springs,) And we are very sad at what this school district has to offer. And where are the text books? My children have not had 1 since they started!!! Instead they get a journal to copy down false information. To my child's Science teacher... if you want to talk to my child about who invented the Polio vaccine... why don't you first educated the child on what a vaccine is, what polio is, and why you vaccinate. Not what a name is and what they did. STOP TEACHING TO TAKE A TEST!!! If this community had a private school there would be a waiting list.

Horrible. Get rid of the terrible teachers, TRY to keep the good ones and fire all admin and make the district better. I personally know a few people who have left this city in the last couple of years due solely to the horrible schools and I will be next. You’re not getting my tax money anymore.

All this school does is play favorites, put our children at risk and discourage actual learning in any way, shape or form. My child is an A student, good in sports, & his coach treats him like he isn't even there. He hasn't been in trouble either! If I knew then what I knew now, we would have moved to Blue Springs, or Lee's Summit!

We love the Pleasant Hill School System. Teachers are the best and really communicate with the parents. Great opportunities for the kids. Great music and theater departments. I wouldn't want my kids to go anywhere else!!!

The principal at this school is a waste of money. The children can not stand her. Her policies and treatment to the teachers is a joke. She is unapproachable by parents. She is not open to suggestions. She finally got rid of the blogs that she made parents go to in order to figure out what was being taught to our children. Her status in the community is lack luster, but thanks to a craptastic board, and the inability for the community to get her out of here, it is yet another school that is sub par. Can not wait to get the kids through Intermediate and Middle school and into the High School. Teachers get moved around way too much. Every year in a major subject (Science or Math) my child ends up having a substitute for over half the year. Instead of hiring a substitute teacher (There are many teachers without jobs) Arbuckle brings in a stay at home mom to teach the students. When i question her about this she responds-she lives in PHill, is real nice, and the kids like her. Really? I want someone who was trained in the subject and can educate my child. Not your FRIEND who you want to give a job to. Give me a break. When will our children come first?
