About this House

Welcome to a wonderful opportunity in the always sought after and popular neighborhood of Marchwood. This traditional two-story 4 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath colonial on one of the most sought-after streets boasts Brazilian cherry hardwood floors in the living and dining rooms along with barn style doors. The huge floor to ceiling bow window allows these rooms to be bathed in natural light making them warm and inviting. An eat-in kitchen offers stainless steel dishwasher, gas stove, microwave, refrigerator, solid surface countertops, garbage disposal and a pantry. The step-down family room off the kitchen provides a full brick wall with a gas fireplace and high hats which adds character and texture to this large room. Through the sliding glass doors in the family room you will find yourself in the huge 3-season room with a wooden cathedral ceiling with skylights, ceiling fan and an included hot tub perfect for relaxing after a hard day. Off the 3-season room lies a gorgeous flat back yard with a tiered deck making play and entertaining an absolute delight. The main floor laundry room, powder room and tiled entry foyer complete this level. Upstairs the carpeted master bedroom with a ceiling fan and double closet also has its own updated attached bathroom with a ceramic tiled stall shower, vanity and bisque utilities. The additional three upstairs good sized bedrooms have bamboo flooring and ceiling fans. The updated ceramic tiled hall bathroom has a bathtub/shower and white utilities. You will find on the 2nd floor hallway a linen closet and access to a floored attic via a door at the top of the stairs making storage here a safer and easier option than a pull-down stairs attic. The new owners will enjoy the extra room provided by the finished area of the basement which also has additional storage space in the unfinished section of the utility room and under the stairs. You can walk to the YMCA with indoor & outdoor pools. Marchwood is a popular established sidewalk community: minutes from 3 schools within the award-winning Downingtown East School District. It is also within walking distance to Acker Park and LYA ballfields and only minutes from the Exton Mall, local shopping, PA Turnpike, Marsh Creek State Park and all major roadways. This is a house you will LOVE to call home!

"People on this cul-de-sac know each other and appreciate the proximity to major attractions, while enjoying a deer and a fox now and then. Neighbors are safety conscious and amicable, stopping for friendly chats on their walks during nice weather. A short walk brings you to the YMCA, Downingtown East High School, Lionville Middle and elementary schools, and the LYA youth athletic fields. In the summer time, we can here the distant call of the ball games and in the fall, you can hear the school marching band practicing after school. Multiple generations have lived on the street since the 60's, which gives it an old-fashioned, small town feel. Yards are spacious and well kept and the mix is varied and multi-generational. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else!"
  • Deb K.

  • lrob720
