"Pretty straight forward livin'. People keep an eye out for each other. Parking is easy but watch out for $10 tickets during street cleaning nights or plow days."
    • Elizabeth E.
"Moved here from Chicago to get away from the crime and violence plus seeking lower rent costs. Time froze here years ago, but it's very beautiful."
    • Elizabeth E.
"People look out for other people here. Little kids are usually found with other kids in groups or riding bikes and walking around with their parents."
    • Libby E.
"One of the best places to walk your dog is the riverwalk in the downtown area. It does get busier with bikes, walkers and other dogs in the warmer months. People might be walking their dogs in a more relaxed manner, too. Depending on your dog's personality, it always pays to be vigilant :) There is a lot of nice, green grass around for potty business and free poop bags at either end of the riverwalk. Walking your dog earlier or later at night is also a great way to enjoy the beautiful scenery. "
    • Libby E.
"Bellevue is a very beautiful place with a breathtaking riverwalk along the Mississippi River. The downtown area is pleasant with a bookstore, Subway, Casey's General Store, True Value, art gallery and brewery. Just outside of town up Highway 52 is a Family Dollar, as well. There are a number of amazing older homes with remnants of life in the olden days. One grocery store and inexpensive gas at a few different gas stations!"
    • Steve
"I have lived here for about 18+ months. Small HOA of very friendly people. Rural atmosphere yet just 8 miles to city of DBQ"
    • Libby E.
"I work from home 😄😄😄But, there are pretty clear highway routes to other towns and nearby Dubuque, as well. "
    • Libby E.
"It's such a beautiful place to live where you can tell that the residents are either lifelong locals or transplants from Chicago who completely fall in love with the simplicity of life here. Bellevue lives up to its name - beautiful view. The riverwalk is an important draw, and most of the buildings on Riverview Drive were built in the 1800's. When you walk around the city of Bellevue or venture up into the state park, it's pretty magical. You can find a good book at The Bookworm or grab a delicious coffee at Sugar and Spice, both on Riverview Drive. "

"I live in town and don't have a commute. There is some sort of transportation for people without cars - RTA. A lot of things you need are within walking distance. "
