About this House

This striking contemporary end-unit townhouse in Cabots Point captures the architectural character that makes Reston so distinctive. Wrapped in cedar siding and surrounded by mature trees, the home offers a dramatic, light-filled interior with multiple levels, open sight lines and three private decks that bring the outdoors into everyday living. Step inside to a showstopping open staircase that immediately sets the tone. The main level features an expansive, open-concept living and dining area with views into the lower level and access to two separate outdoor living spaces, perfect for morning coffee, grilling or relaxing beneath the trees. Walls of windows fill the home with natural light while preserving the peaceful, tucked-away feeling of its wooded setting. The kitchen combines warmth and function with rich wood cabinetry, granite countertops, pendant lighting, a white tile backsplash and stainless-steel appliances. An adjoining eat-in area is wrapped in windows overlooking the landscaped, fenced front courtyard with stonework and mature plantings, creating a charming place for casual meals. Upstairs, an open gallery-style hallway is lined with railings and overlooks the levels below, reinforcing the home’s dramatic contemporary design. Three generously sized bedrooms feature large windows with leafy, nature-filled views. The primary suite includes a private bathroom with a quartz-topped vanities and walk-in shower, while a second full bathroom is conveniently located between the two additional bedrooms. The walk-out lower level offers even more flexible living space. A spacious family room with a wood-burning fireplace opens through sliding glass doors to the third deck, providing a private outdoor retreat surrounded by greenery. The fourth bedroom also features sliding glass doors to the same deck, making it ideal for guests, a home office or a quiet secondary living space. A half bathroom and access to the two-car garage are half way up the staircase between the main and lower levels. Cabots Point is a distinctive enclave set around beautiful Lake Audubon, known for contemporary cedar homes designed to blend naturally into their surroundings. While this property is not lakefront, it enjoys the peaceful atmosphere and wooded beauty of the lakeside community. South Lakes Village Center, with Safeway, restaurants, coffee and everyday conveniences is nearby, along with the Wiehle–Reston East Metro station and the Silver Line. Residents also enjoy the extensive amenities of Reston Association, including more than 1,300 acres of open space, four lakes, miles of pathways, swimming, tennis, pickleball, recreation programs and community events.

  • douglasvaughn
"This is a quiet, beautiful area that is well kept. 6 minute drive (1.1 mile) from the Wiehe-Reston Metro Station and Dulles Toll Road. Really close to two lakes, parks, South Lakes Shopping Center, and Reston Town Center. With so many companies moving to Reston, this neighborhood is in a prime location."
  • Zenseeker
"Just ok. Area smrlls. Lots of dead wood sround. Lots of mold and fungus. "
  • kelly
"I live in this area and love the short walk to South Lakes Shopping Center, which has everything from great fast food (Starbucks,Chipotle,Subway, Cafesano) to nicer restuarants, including a new one opening fall of 2014. Also it has a nice pet store, large grocery, CVS, and several other shops. The new Silver Line Metro stop is only a one mile walk and, like the walk to the shopping Center, takes you by the beautiful lakes. If you have a dog, like many people on Beaver Trail Ct., there is a large wooded area with dog walking trails and doggie stations at each entrance. The people are very friendly around here and there are so many groups to join. This area caters to the active adult/family lifestyle. Reston has a huge bike club and running club. The condos at Nantucket (Beaver Trail Ct.) have a cummunity dock on Lake Audubon from which to launch your Kayak, Canoe, or stand-up paddle board. The Reston Triatholon is also held on this lake every fall. I always enjoy paddling to the swimming pool located near the boat ramp, swimming for a couple of hours before paddling back to the Nantucket dock. The area has an amazing number of trails for hikers, bikers, and horse back riders, some paved, some not. Many connect to the WO&D Trail, which goes to Vienna, Falls Church, and DC (via the Custis spur) in one direction, and Reston Town Center (too much nightlife, too many stores, and too many festivals to mention), Herndon, and out to Loudoun County in the other direction. My friends and I used to bike from Reston to Leesburg, then connect with the C&O canal tow path and go all the way to Shepherdstown, WV, spending the night along one of the many camp sites that the C&O has every five miles. When I travel, which I love to do, Dulles International Airport is only 10-15 minutes away. I love this part of Reston and I don't think I will ever live anywhere else."
