this school is probably one of the worst schools ive ever had my kids in. They do not care about your needs, and they do not care about bullying no matter how severe it gets, you'll get lunch detention even if you were excused the days you were absent, and they just act like they hate you in general. They do not care about your mental health, they only care about your performance. They do not accommodate to anything kids might need to learn properly. My child needed a plushie to focus and they told her to put it away or they would take it after I sent her with a note saying she needs it and it can stay on the floor as long as she can feel it next to her. The staff are utterly rude, the students are somehow worse, I would never recommend this school to anyone. It deserves to be shut down. Not to mention, its dirty.

They WORST school in Washington State. Would never recommend them to my worst enemy. "90% of the Staff should be sacked an they should start fresh." My Opinion.

Principal is a joke. Parents are kept purposely out of the loop and treated poorly when concerns are brought to light. Kids don’t feel safe. Bullying is rampant, yet the only punishment is time out in the “opportunity room”. Education levels are far below other schools we have been involved with. The teachers have no experience, they don’t inform parents about state testing so we can help prepare our students. One teacher slammed my kids hand in the door during pickup, kids are regularly yelled at and berated by staff. Lice outbreaks regularly that the principal; Stephanie Teel, proudly announces that they aren’t legally required to check for lice or alert parents when kids find lice in their hair at school. Kids come home talking about kids in their class have bugs in their hair and play with them in class. Teachers are lazy and WA state curriculum is not even met. This school should be dissolved and absorbed into another that would make good use of our tax dollars. St Helen’s and by extension, Stephanie Teel, is an abysmal failure. How a school can remain open with a 2/10 rating with testing etc is beyond me. Shame on the principal and shame on the staff that are ok with mediocrity.
