As a student of this school, i can say that the whole school is a jumbled up mess of a bunch of stuff. The education in the school is utterly awful, half having to do with teacher shortages, and another half being the lack of room to have other classes such as social studies, and science. I have found with experience that the middle school teachers provide good care to students and the teaching is okay overall. The lower grades do NOT provide sufficient education by any means, in my opinion. When I saw the 6th grade come into the middle school this year, everybody found that they were far behind in what they should know by their age. The bullying and guidiance counseling at this school is another mess of basically awfulness. They don't have an actual guidance counselor so they had to hire the bus driver, you heard me right, BUS driver to do it. There is NOTHING wrong with bus drivers, and I don't think of them any less of the teachers and students, but they got a cdl to drive, not to cater to a bunch of kids that are in a heated argument. And the way they handle bullying is also very bad. They do the classic: give out the paper to fill out and write why you shouldn't have done what you did. People don't realize that that whole style of solving a students behavior is longly outdated and their is much better ways to handle that. The school condition is awful, just awful. Every room with broken tiles, scratched floors, emergency doors that literally dont open (I'm not joking), etc. I will say the best part of the school which is the only reason it is a two star review is the fact that their is free lunch! And another factor is that it tastes genuinely okay for school food.

This school is an absolute gem (and so is the town)! I had the best childhood because of this town and school. Small yes, but incredibly surprising in terms of delivering the best education for students. A special shout out to Mr. Grittner who went so above and beyond for students individually and the school itself. I do have to say though, almost all the teachers I had (elementary too) were superb- as if the school system has some kind of magical magnet for amazing staff. Ginette Ladd, the Secretary, was/is an extra special and important part of CMHS as well.
