My two daughters have loved every minute of their education at this school. While my oldest was struggling in her early years at another school, as soon as she started at Lakeside, it was a complete turn around. Excelling in all subject and even EXCITED to go to svhool and do her work. The teachers and staff are incredible and keep me well informed on all things happening!

Both my kids attended this school in 2023 and 2024, and this school has come a long way. From talking to my kids there was a group of students that came graduated in 2023 that had a lot of issues. DOJ investigations within UT addressed many of the issues and kids attending this school now have a much more positive experience than kids in 2023. My family moves around a lot and my oldest son has attended 6 different school and he really enjoyed his time at West Point Junior High. As a parent, I also had great interactions with the teachers and administration and they have been very helpful with my youngest son’s IEP. My youngest son now goes to the newly opened Horizon Junior High, but he enjoyed his time at this school. Please take note that Horizon Junior high opened in 2025 and is not yet showing on this site, but if you are moving to this area you may very well be going to Horizon instead of West Point. It is also a great school with a fantastic band program and my youngest is enjoying his time at this new school as well.

As a military member, my family has had to move 7 times since my kids were born and have dealt with a wide variety of school experiences. This school has been one of my kids favorite schools. Teachers have been more fun and engaging than at most schools and the school works to involve parents as needed. There is some minor bullying, but nothing beyond what is typically experienced at most schools. The school has also been great at working with my son’s 504 and ensured he has gotten the accommodations he needs.
