My son joined the high school band which he was in the middle school band. I went to the meeting and they gave us a fundraiser to do because it cost us $400 for their band uniform. It was the soap fundraiser that I did at the meeting. They said that the soap would be in on me 21st 2025 today is June 3 and still have not received it and I took the time out to go around and do this fundraiser and have contacted the school since May 21 and have not gotten a call back. The only person I can speak with is the secretary and I just called her and she just hung up on me and told me when they get it ready because the stuff is up there and the School is not responsible for it. it’s the band booster people. No one will call me back and no one will tell me when we can come and pick it up which is eight pallets of stuff when they put the order in I just learned my experience. I’ll never do another fundraiser. This is going to be a blast of four years that my son has to go through this school. what mostly I’m getting at is there’s no conversations from the teachers to the parents and the secretary hung up on me and no I was not using any curse words I was being very patient but yes, a little blunt because the people have been asking about their $50 soap for the fundraiser and I can’t even give them an answer and it’s making me look like I took money off of these people that helped make this possible with the fundraiser.

I think Rome city school is a very good school,the principal is great,she's very concerned with the kids,and treats everyone fairly,not just the kids that have wealthy parents,or parents that are on the board,or are employed with the school. Mrs.Green has done a lot for the school and is constantly rewarding students for the accomplishments. I've known a lot of students that attended Rome city with outstanding grade point averages became very successful after college. I love the idea where each student advances at their own pace, more advanced students are challenged a little more than other students that are not quite ready. I'd put my daughter up against any other 3rd grader at another school with higher ratings,she's very advanced for her age. I also believe the learning,and higher test scores starts at home...getting enough sleep,a loving stable home,and discipline comes first!! Parents sometimes like to blame the teachers for their child failing,or getting in trouble and in 90% of the time it's the parents that failed!

The staff is amazing. They are always finding new and innovative ways to teach kids. Students in the school are excited to be at school and are developing great relationships with their teachers. The main drawback is the age of the building and facilities, but that is being addressed with the construction of a brand new facility which will be open in 2018.
