Worst school ever. My niece is autistic, so definitely a handful, which the school was made made aware of months before she started kindergarten. She needed line of sight at all times, help with potty times, help with a lot of things in general. My sister went over everything on her IEP with the school and teacher from her preschool. My sister (and her previous teacher) were both pushing for my niece to be in special Ed. The school insisted they wanted to try general education first...which was a terrible idea. They didn't tell my sister at that time they didn't have a special Ed, they told her after she started school they would see how she did. It was OBVIOUS even in the first week they couldn't handle her and she was not appropriate for general education. The teacher was constantly (DAILY) contacting my sister about her behavior...all things that they were made aware of before she stepped foot there. She had daily accidents (which she almost never does at home), was hitting, escaping from the class and building, not participating in class. And they still wouldn't put her in special education. They kept giving excuses and pushing back meetings about it. They wanted line of sight taken off her IEP because they "didn't have staff for it", a child that was escaping 5-10(!) times a day WITH supposedly line of sight already. My niece BROKE HER FINGER in front of two school staff. The nurse said it was "probably fine" but when my sister took her to the pediatrician, they said it was broken with just a glance. She had to get SURGERY to fix her finger. At 5. Still kept pushing meetings off, while her teacher was contacting my sister and then my brother in law about her behavior. They finally had that meeting when school is going to end soon. They wasted an entire year of my nieces education because they refused to admit they couldn't handle her. A day in class is basically my niece pushed to the side with stuff to keep her busy. This is unacceptable. Incredibly incompetent, lying, condescending bunch.

i attended sunset all four years, i was a shy and quiet student and wouldnt really interact with other students. almost all of my teachers i had noticed that and would offer help to me whenever they could. whether it be if i wanted to come in during free period for extra help, needed extra time for a deadline or just tell me they would give me extra support/help.of course i had a few bad teachers, but overall all the teachers i did like were the best teachers ive had, they would almost always go above and beyond for their students. they motivated me to keep going even when i would really struggle. they wouldnt make me feel bad for doing bad on something. i made the best friends i could have during the last few years of hs. there are a lot of nice people at sunset, i never felt like i was bullied or targeted in any wayi loved eating the school lunch, the lunch ladies were all kindmost of the work i was assigned was easy to understand, i personally wasnt assigned a ton of homework so i feel like it was easier focusing on my main assignments. overall i loved this school, had a really good experience . id recommend this school definitely

This school is the worst middle school I have ever been to. I haven't been to any other middle school, but trust me when I say this, I WISH I DID. This school is full of people who do not care about you, and all they do it glaze the white, blonde kids and the popular girls. Recess isn't even fun because you need to grab an ID card and give it to an admin who holds it for the rest of the time there. Back in my day, we could just grab a ball and go. Now we have to give a card in exchange? This school is really messed up. Not only that, but when you are autistic, you are treated like you're in special education, putting you in a NON-OPTIONAL elective. This is why I hate this school. It's not even the teachers, it's every single student.
