8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWorst school ever. My daughter started school here and they refused to work with her in the areas where she struggled. Teachers would belittle her for not understanding the content and had no response when questioned and then isolate her away from everybody even when given the paperwork stating she has a very bad hyperactivity problem and expect it to get better. Bullying here is VERY BAD both from the students and TEACHERS, we have called many times and nothing was ever done. But when she sticks up for herself she gets in trouble!!! The principal is the worst of all, lie to your face and have law enforcement interrogate an under age minor WITH OUT EVEN NOTIFYING THE PARENTS. Be smart, be safe, we pulled our daughter and now do homeschooling where she is excelling. I do not recommend this school for any parent who value their children.Parent Review2y ago9 Reviews - Horace Mann Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTeachers are great. We feel our student is loved and safe at school. It’s close knit and just a good school. The school has increasingly enrolled more low-income students, hence the shift in test scores. But they’re still known as a good school in the community because they’ve maintained their reputation despite challenges.Parent Review1y ago12 Reviews - Kickapoo High School

"The commute is not ideal I am looking to move to republic mo closer to work, other than that Springfield is not a bad place to live as long as you stay on the south side"

"We’ve lived here for 23 years. My boys loved being so close to Kickapoo, plus we are close to the mall, the hospital, the theater, and easy access to the expressway. "

"It’s a nice, quiet neighborhood. Everyone keeps to themselves but are also friendly and neighborly. Easy access to the highway, the mall, Walmart, target, the hospital... really not that bad of an area. Seems to mostly be older adults or young families. Police patrol frequently and crime is pretty low. "

"It’s a great neighborhood to live in. There’s basically everything you could need within walking distance; restaurants, sports bars, laundry, gas station/c-store, Walmart. Crime rate is low and the neighbors are friendly. "
