This school absolutely sucks. The way they run the school is exactly like a prison. You arent allowed to sit with your friends at lunch and if you wait just a minute past when you get there, you can get suspended or written up for no reason. Teachers favorite students here, its totally unfair. If your sick and in the hospital and your grades drop, they wont do anything to help you. The school is infested with roaches, a dead bird in the gym. We have zero rights here, if your going to get jumped, oh forget about it, they wont help you. Theres so much racism in this school coming from staff, students and even chaperones. This school is utterly ridiculous. The amount of times there has been gun threats and someone found with ANY form of gun (toy, water, bb, etc) nothing has been done and the students continue to attend. They have ridiculous standards that obviously dont match the school. The teachers here LITERALLY force you to do things you never want to do, your treated like actual babies that have no form of asking for help. In my three years going to this school, the only good teachers I have actually ever met are Ms. Sammons, Ms. Buckley, Ms stout, and Mr. Legge. Theyre the only teachers that will ever actually teach your students anything regarding in school or general life lessons. Obviously coming from a child, it sounds horrible but believe me it is. This school cares more about if you have a cell phone rather than your wellbeing. The staff here refuse to call out any children of a greater minority for anything out of line, but the minute a smaller minority does something theyre the first to get on it. This school sucks. I would never recommend this school to anyone, my middle school years sucked.

This is by far the worst school I have ever sent my child. There is daily violence and overall unacceptable behavior in the students. The kids who want to learn can’t due to the poor atmosphere. The teachers are great and very supportive but unfortunately the kids seem to be ruling the school here. 100% don’t recommend sending your child to this school. Luckily we don’t have to go back next year.

I joined this school in 10th grade and graduated early as part of a class of 26. My experience was mixed—there were positive moments, but also significant challenges that affected academics and the overall student environment.Academically, experiences varied widely by teacher. Some teachers genuinely engage with students and foster understanding, while others rely heavily on pre-made packets and worksheets, which don’t always prepare students for standardized tests. My intensive reading class, for example, effectively prepared students for the FAST test, sometimes more than the actual English class. However, for the BEST writing test, students were not adequately prepared because the English curriculum did not align with what was assessed, leaving many unsure how to approach it. While I performed well in subjects like math and science, inconsistent teaching in other areas hindered learning.The administration, including Principal Garcia, has a generally friendly rapport with students, but inconsistencies exist in how student needs are addressed. Some policies and events seem to prioritize high-profile programs, such as athletics, over other students. I observed certain staff showing selective treatment of students, creating an environment that felt unfair at times. While I was not personally targeted, I witnessed unprofessional or dismissive interactions among staff and toward students, which can make the school climate challenging.Safety has been a concern; the school experienced an active shooter lockdown. These incidents were handled promptly, but they add to student stress.On the positive side, many teachers make a real effort to engage students meaningfully, and supportive staff—like the new front desk personnel—have a positive impact and are appreciated by students. Unfortunately, internal staff dynamics, including favoritism, gossip, and unprofessional behavior, sometimes undermine this support and affect the overall school culture.Overall, while there are strong teachers and some supportive staff, the inconsistent teaching quality, inequitable treatment of students, and administrative priorities can make the school environment draining. Improvements in curriculum alignment, teacher support, and attention to all students—not just high-profile programs—would strengthen the overall educational experience.
