I’ve had 2 kids go here so far and my 3rd will not be. I’ve given them chance after to chance to redeem themselves but unfortunately the teachers just do not care any the students success out of they are struggling. Their all about the numbers not in it with what their heart is set out to do. Help children be successful. I do not recommend this school.

We’re a military family, and we’re also an African American family. While many don’t even consider this should be a factor in deciding on a school, I always consider it before a move. We moved about a mile away from Verrado Elementary School in 2024, and I did shy away from this school due to heresay. I’m a school nurse at a charter school and my second grader had so much anxiety where I worked. I swapped him over and took a chance on VES in the 4th quarter of 24/25 academic year. To my surprise my shy anxious little guy made student of the month for March, April, and May. He thrived. Mrs. Lopez, his then second grade teacher looped her class to third grade, and he is still thriving. I’m so happy with how happy he is to go to school. As far as academics, I’ve seen more challenging environments, but honestly, my focus is on his relationship with academics over giving him over challenging mountains of school work. His teacher is supportive. They offer a lot of fun and family engaging opportunities. I really appreciate how everyone just seems to enjoy working there and how much the principal seems to care for the school. If you’re considering this school, I suggest going by and seeing it in person. I regret not sending my son there sooner.

If you have a special needs child do not, I repeat do not send your child to this high school. My child has experienced a level of discrimination and embarrassment, some would call harassment. My child was literally personally harassed by a teacher and that teacher is still employed by the school. Administration did nothing to protect my child. Administration does nothing to help or protect special needs children from adults who prey upon their short comings. There is zero communication between special needs department heads and staff and they will let your child suffer and then blame your child for not understanding or comprehending assignments. Zero support, zero empathy and not a place for children to learn ir thrive this school is an absolute joke. I beg of you please do not send your special needs kids here.
