"Great area and great schools. Some great parks and close to the beach. Great for being outside but the hills and lack of sidewalks in areas makes it less walkable than other areas. Package theft does happen and people don’t clean up after their pets well. The rent is also really high around here. "
  • Trulia User
"Cardiff is a great place to live for everyone. Great restaurants and seaside market is amazing. The beaches are great too. "
  • Trulia User
"A lot of owners out here. Definetly a hot spot for pets. Not sure about pet parks however. Only see well maintained pets."
  • Trulia User
"Cardiff-by-the-Sea is one of the greatest communities in San Diego. People watch out for one another, have a strong sense of pride for the neighborhood, and everyone is friendly. I can’t say anything bad about living here!!"
  • Trulia User
"We moved here in November so have been here just about a year. We are absolutely in love with the neighborhood. Everyone is friendly and there is a diverse group of neighborhood residents. The sunshine, the views, the local market and restaurants - were never leaving "
  • Trulia User
"It’s a nice place to live, being near I5 is great to get around easily. Lots of schools, shops, restaurants etc. but lots of homeless people too. "
  • Shannon T.
"Movies at Patagonia. Cardiff Kook decorations. Camping at San elijo state beach. Bubbles and moonlight. "
  • Christina F.
"Great neighbors - neighbors can make or break your neighborhood!! We are pretty lucky to be surrounded by good people!! Fingers crossed that it stays that way!"
  • Brian D.
"My commute in the morning (6:15am) to Mira Mesa is easy, only 20 min. Coming home with non-pandemic traffic it can changes to a 35 to 50 min drive. "
  • Brockallmaras
"Encinitas is almost as cool as Cardiff but not quite as cool. It never will be. However, it is the second coolest in the land"
  • Stefan
"Lived here for 5 years, great community and great people. Surprising amount of crime though, due to easy access to the 5."
  • Jim C.
"Great place to live, moved back from Florida and prefer over La Jolla. Can be expensive but just need to be patient when house hunting."
