Unfortunately, we live in the school district and our child must attend until a space opens for transfer in any other school district near us. We have spent 2 years at this school with our PreK/K age child, and wish we never had to deal with them. The PreK Teacher was horrible in terms of communication to parents, as was the school administration, and due to circumstances where we felt that our child was being treated differently than other students (because we (his parents) are gay? Because he has an IEP? Because we attempted to be involved in our child's education?) and continuously suspended, we pulled him from the school and sent him to a PreK center in a nearby town. Our child developed many uncharacteristic habits and issues after his PreK time at this school that we are still dealing with through counseling. We have no idea what happened in the PreK classroom to cause such a 180 degree difference in the behavior and emotions of our child, but we worked hard to no avail to see that the teacher at least be investigated by the OK Department of Education, which unfortunately went nowhere due to the restructuring that Stitt has done in that department.Kindergarten we reluctantly enrolled him and his teacher this year was amazing. She actually seemed to care about the students and made sure to keep parents informed throughout the year. The teacher our child had this year is the only good experience that we have had with Keys Elementary School since 2022. The administration was still very disrespectful to us, we felt that the administration was not treating our child fairly, and their communication skills could be drastically improved. Our child is (and was) utilizing an IEP, and though the school appeared to work with us for various plans, for some reason it always came down to a "he said, she said" type situation in which we spoke with the Superintendent multiple times attempting to advocate for our child. Hopefully, we can transfer our district for 2024 and not have to deal with this school again. If not, I hope that our child's first grade teacher is half as amazing as his Kindergarten teacher!

We have lived in the Keys community off and on my entire life before the high school I attended the elementary school and 2 of my 3 children have graduated from the high school with the 3rd staring next year. My daughter absolutely loved it and did really well she is a mother and an LPN planning to get her RN. My son was very shy and quite when he started high school with the support of the teachers, staff, and athletic program he had the best experience he is in the Army and returns to visit special teachers with each visit and I'm sure my youngest will have just as an amazing experience. Love the school, the teachers, staff, and community.
