The school has been homophobic to me, I’ve been treated differently than others and so has my group of friends compared to students who “fit in.” The majority of teachers don’t care about how you’re doing, just the work you’re getting done, and most of the staff/teachers act supportive, but if your grades are bad they stop caring. Also some adults have this weird underlying racism thing that I’ve been told about by students who’ve experienced it. I can name numerous times I’ve been singled out and targeted by teachers, and because of that it’s made me strongly dislike school, I’d go as far to say I hate school, and normally I’m excited to learn, lately not so much.

Best school that I ever went to. My previous school was a living hell, what an upgrade. The teachers are so supportive, and I’ve actually wanted to go to school.

O'Dea is a wonderful core knowledge school that focuses on a sense of belonging. The principal, vice principal, guidance counselor, teachers, and other staff all truly care about the kids. Family involvement is encouraged.
