Being from this area for decades, one would expect that I would be positive about this school. But after going to it myself...then sending my own children to it for a few years, I regret that I didn't leave the district sooner. Some teachers were good over the years, others had an attitude problem. These problems negatively influenced how they taught the children.Bullying is rampant in this school. Not in the way that gets easily seen by all, but it's everywhere here. Teachers feel that it's an inconvenience for them to police the problem, and always go for the quick way out to end it....leaving the bullying to carry on in the future. To assemble the parents when it's 'out of control' is outrageous to them and not worth their time.I know of several families that refused to allow their children to attend this school over the years....opting to drive them outside the district to attend Douglass, Mulvane, Winfield, etc. (surrounding communities). This trend is STILL CONTINUING TODAY.If you're considering the choice to send your child to this high school, know that they will be an outsider as soon as they enter the building. The superficial pleasantries from the staff will quickly fade and the other students will regard your child as someone to target to bully.
