"We are more like extended family than neighbors. We check on each other and watch each other's kids. Help each other with car repairs and other things that need to be fixed. "
  • Christine W.
"People in mound are stuck up and act like they’re better than others. The say they helpful but it very hard to find ones willing"
  • Lucas H.
"Spirit of the Lakes annual summer event held at the beach just a few blocks away, along with the parade. Great community event. "
  • Lucas H.
"We’ve lived in this neighborhood for 6.5 years and love the lake life feel. Being 3 blocks from the lake and public beach it’s like we are living on the lake. "
  • Erin.pies
"People drive around the neighborhood speeding when kids could be playing. Especially when the sun blinds you at sunrise and sunset. It is hard to see things in or near the road until it could possibly be too late. Otherwise, it is a friendly neighborhood. We feel safe leaving doors unlocked cars and doors to our home. "
  • Holly O.
"My neighbors are very friendly and we run into each other at all the local community events like Spirit of the Lakes Festival and the Incredible Festival. "
  • Holly O.
"We look out for each other and help each other. We had bonfires and hang out together in the summer. "
  • Faithwilson43
"Mounds a nice neighborhood with good school districts. I enjoy the small town vibes and it’s beautiful scenery."
  • Trulia User
"Mound is so quick and easy to get anywhere in the metro. We love it here. Anytime of the year, it is great driving around Lake Minnetonka. It has such beautiful scenery. "
  • ShannonD
"Commuting in this small area is easy, but getting out to the city is slow going. To get out to major grocery stores or shopping, it is mostly 2 lane roads. "
  • Shannondarpino
"The neighborhood is connected to a trail that traverses over 60 miles. Very family friendly and has public transportation options. "
  • Krista w.
"We are surrounded by Lake Minnetonka so there is a lot of recreational activities that involve water, like boating or jet skiing. 20-30 min from Minneapolis. It can be tricky to get places in the winter because there are only a handful of routes to take and they all are full of curves or hills. "
  • Holly O.
" The neighbors are super friendly. The community has lots of events all summer long. Walking distance to a swim beach. "
  • danschroepfer
"I moved away from Mound 11 months ago and miss it. Such a wonderful combination of safety, water sports, great bike trail, easy access to great restaurants like Lord Fletchers on the lake and others in Wayzata and Excelsior. Very low taxes for the benefit of the area with award winning schools. "
  • S S.
"This is a great area for families as the schools are just fantastic and the recreation is so family friendly. Take the trails for hours with your dogs or your kids on bikes. Or park your boat at a city dock and spend your summer evenings on the water with them both. "
  • Nancy R.
"I am a realtor that has been marketing homes in this area for over 35 years! Woods, water and wildlife make the area a serene and picturesque place to live with just minutes to the beach, fishing, sailing, boating, all an added bonus. Great restaurants and entertaining nearby!"
