Although Bonneville offers a varied academic experience, it’s by no means a welcoming place, except for people from a certain race and a certain socioeconomic background.My daughter has been here for 3 years, and only had one great teacher. Her kindergarten teachers were good academically, but very dismissive of my concerns. Her first grade teacher was absolutely horrible and caused half the class anxiety attacks and should never be in charge of kids in any way. The new principal was condescending, dismissive and didn’t care about my kid’s well being. 2nd grade teacher and new counselor are great.The only way I got the school to address my kid’s ADHD (diagnosed) needs was by going through the district and practically forcing them to listen. I wouldn’t recommend the school to anyone who doesn’t live nearby and isn’t white and rich.

In my first semester there since I came in late I didn’t get much say about classes, but they wouldn’t put me in any classes with my friend's NOW HANG ON. You might think “well they don’t want you goofing off!” Well. That didn’t turn out to great. I turned so socially awkward, I didn’t make any new friends. And DESTROYED any old ones because of how bad my anxiety got! And then next semester they ignored everything that happened, put me in the same lunch with my friends but damage had already been done, they made me go to see the school counselor (she didn’t help at all btw). But when they found a book of all mg thoughts? They made me come down, do a 20 questions ‘do you like being on this earth!’ Quiz and then scream at my mother to put me in a hospital. They don’t do anything for students who have mental health issues. They force them out of there comfort zones when they’re not ready making them want to hide even more. Force them to talk about things they don’t want to. And don’t care about actually helping! But the teachers are fine, even though some of them are weird and touch you with out permission (only happened to me with one teacher). And with the work they give, Students need more explanation and time doing a assignment. You can’t give a bad explanation and expect us to turn it in, in a week. And when faced against a boy looking in the girls locker room. You know what they did? Nothing! He was suspended for 2 days! Nothing else! And when he continued to harass girls. NOTHING! But when my own friend yells at a kid for saying slurs about LGBTQIA and black people. She gets sent to detention the rest of the day and yelled at.

First day of school . I’ve found the process to be very disorganized, which has been frustrating. I’ve called daily and haven’t been able to get through to anyone on the phone. We also never received an email about new registrations, and when we arrived, we were directed to three different places before getting any assistance. It felt like there was a lot of confusion, and no one seemed to have clear information. Better communication and organization would make this process much smoother for everyone.

My experience at Innovations Early college isn't the best but i got to live through it. One of the best parts is the freedom we get to work at our own pace. We have our own independent study time that lets catch up if were behind. I would say that the teaching style is not what people would like. For ex in math class , were assigned patterns to do the classwork. Isn't the teacher supposed to explain the lesson. That would be much better and i bet we would also learn better. Science is great. English in also great. But history , like what's even the point of having history class without a teacher teaching. They just make us read alone and do our work alone. C'mon guys! it feels too independent, and if you fall behind it can be hard to catch up. I also wish there were more fun activities and classes, like sports or clubs, so students could connect outside of class. . Having more fun activities would help everyone connect and feel more excited about coming to school. Overall its a 3.5-4/10.
