"Lots of walking trails for people with dogs. Areas to throw out poop bags. Beautiful scene to walk around. "
  • Michael O'donnell
"I get to work in 20 minutes going through a state park and deception pass bridge. Quite. Watch out for state patrol. Don’t speed. "
  • Matt Adkison
"Yearly festivals in the summer, early fall, lived here for 21 years, has a small community feel, lots of beaches, lakes and trails in the woods."
  • Krysti Seay
"We have beautiful water views, but notoriously bad cell service. Neighbors out walking dogs or kids. People care about their homes and yards. "
  • JoAnn E.
"Everyone has dogs here! They are welcome everywhere and they love the forest lands! It’s fun walking and exploring with my dog. He loves it. "
  • Jillian G
"Schools are great for typical children but not for children with adhd or anxiety. They let those kids struggle and slip through the cracks. If your kids have learning disabilities don’t count on this school system "
  • Katie K.
"there id only one main road to bigger cities. the road is usually flowing smoothly, but when there's an accident, and traffic has stopped, there's no choice but to wait it out. "
  • Dinidenman
"Great dog friendly community, nice sidewalks, parks and trails...including dog parks with a separate area for large and small dogs"
  • Larryemaine
"shipwreck days tulip festival st marysfest oyster run drive in theatre washington park and on and on A town is the best of all time... "
  • Dinidenman
"It’s a beautiful place to live, there are so many parks and lakes. The property taxes are too high. "

  • janddsavage
"Anacortes is a charming coastal town, that is actually on Fidalgo Island, In the Puget Sound Archipelago. Beautiful public parks and trails, community access to the Puget Sound, is a Ferry Port, has good restaurants, pubs and many art, music events."
  • jan
"Though shopping in town is limited if you want more than groceries and tourist items, it is readily available within 20 miles. You can't beat the scenery, recreational opportunities, and just sheer beauty of the place. Wish I had never moved away!"
  • Jon W.
"Anacortes, WA is a great place to raise a city with good schools, plenty of parks, lots of restaurants, a movie theatre 1 block away and the ocean is only 3 blocks away!!!"
  • Khc
"Anacortes has more protected community forestland as a percentage of the town than any other town in America, with lots of hiking trails, lakes, ponds, wildlife, and some old-growth stands. Fidalgo Island is a drive-on island with the beauty of a ferry-only island. We are in the Olympic Peninsula rain shadow so have less rainfall than much of Puget Sound."
  • blazer1849
"My family and I love the local community. Anacortes is quaint tourist town full of history and activities. The public school system is wonderful and the "mom and pop" stores downtown give the feeling that you are in your own private resort town hidden away in the Pacific Northwest!"
  • Lsherfs
"This is a very nice area to live. Very nice views and across the street from a lovely neighborhood. "
