My autistic adhd child has nothing but bad experiences from school. That is until he went to Rockdale Elementary. For the first time, he is making friends, getting good grades and is not being treated as an outcast. He walks in the doorand says "I had a wonderful day!" When he goes somewhere with us, kids say "Hey, Zack! See you at school tomorrow!" My child hated school (I dreaded the first day also." And now, He Loves School! That makes me tear up just typing it!!!! Thanks Rockdale Elementary for making a difference. The first day Zack joined 2nd grade, he began to get upset at his work. A boy in the class room encouraged him by saying "calm down buddy, you'll get it.....just take your time." Thanks to his patience and that child's parents, my son is no longer mad at his work

My kids have gone to Rockdale for about 6 years. This school has problems. Don't get me wrong there are some good people that teach here but the athletic department needs a lot of improvement. They expect the kids to already know how to play the sports that they want to play. They do not want to teach them anything. But what are they there for to TEACH!!! Yes, I do have problems with this school because of that. I have a kid that has wanted to play sports the whole time they have been in school and has worked hard to learn the sports but they refuse to teach and mold the kids to what they want. They expect the kids to know already and for it to come easy to them. Which you know everything doesn't come easy to everybody. Some people have to work at it, but that doesn't mean that you down somebody that doesn't know. These kids are in school to learn not to be bullyed by the coaches because they are not athletic.

This school has improved over the last years. New teachers have been hired and the administration is really great. They also have a wonderful after school program
