"The neighborhood and sidewalks need completely revamp. There’s been construction on the road for months. A police presence very visible because of the college, but the neighborhood itself is not being taken care of. Definitely need some neighborhood counseling."
  • Trulia User
"it's a great area I had family in that area the neighbors are great they clean after they pets it's a nice store nearby the neighbors are friendly look out for each other "
  • Nbfresno
"i like this area because there is low crime, beautiful trees, nice homes and everything you could want."
  • Nbfresno
"Love this area. Very quiet and safe. Truman runs right by the neighborhood all the best shopping and entertainment min away."
  • Nancybr
"This is centrally located between midtown and Thunderbolt . The homes are beautiful, but this neighborhood is a secret with no cross or through traffic, so it is very safe. I can get downtown on Truman in about 8 min. The beach is 15 min. away. Hospitals, restaurants, and shopping are all within 5 to 10 min. drives. "
  • Nbfresno
"This is an up and coming area where a person can still get a good buy. Young people are moving in and renovating. Only 8 minutes from the historic district via Truman and yet a scoot out in the southern direction takes you to Lowes on Abercorn in about the same amount of time. Victory Drive at Thuderbolt is 5 min. away, so get down to the beach quickly too."
  • Nbfresno
"I love this secret urban island of an area. It is quiet with new young couples moving in. Great home prices on well built homes. So fast to get anywhere on Truman which is just 2 min. drive away at Laroache"
  • Nbfresno
"Having lived here for 57 years, I can definitely give the area my highest recommendation! In recent years young couples have moved into the area. My neighbors are great."
  • Nbfresno
"I grew up on Armstrong Drive. I just bought a home on 62nd. I just love this "secret" neighborhood. Since there is no cross traffic within the area, the only cars are the ones from the people who live here or their visitors. Most homes are owner occupied. There are no subsidized homes and so none of the problems found in areas like Windsor Forest. Shopping, the Islands, and the historic district are all within 5 to 8 minutes drive. People keep their yards up. Young professionals are starting to buy here, so the home values are creeping up. Prices are still lower than other parts of mid town, but with the closeness to all the amenities of Savannah (I can get down town, Wilmington Island or to the Ogelthorp Mall in 8 to12 minutes depending on traffic), these homes are a steal in a wonderful garden like environment. I sometimes feel like I am living in Eden."
  • Jane
"I previously lived in this area for 24 years - my parents still live there. It is a great place to live and the schools, Julliet Low Elementary, Myers Junior High, and Jenkins are in walking distance. There are several private schools within 5 min drive - Calvary Day School, Bible Baptist and Savannah Christian(Derenne Campus). The way the neighborhood is laid out makes it easy to map out walks at ,5. 1.0, and 2 miles. Mostly families , retirees and couples currently live in this area-some own and some rent. Close to Memorial and Candler Hospitasl and Medical Arts area. About 10 minutes to the mall, downtown and 25 minutes to the beach. This not an area that you get a lot of traffic in and out of the neighborhood, just the people that live in the neighborhood. Most homes are well maintained. The neighborhood is pretty quiet."
