My kids started going to this school last year. I liked how the school showed good testing scores and was rated well by Great Schools. I quickly learned that there is more to a good school than good test scores. Then, I noticed none of the good reviews on Google or Great Schools were recent.I also later realized how much emphasis the school puts on state testing. Multiple emails encouraging preparation for the test, not assigning homework near testing. Is this really a true reflection of success?Worse off, my child and his class had ongoing bullying issues, multiple students hurt in bully situation, multiple disruptions, classroom clears, student cussing at teacher, a student saying the 'N word'!! The school was aware, did and said very little. Can you imagine your kid ask what the N word means, the new word they learned in school, without even a heads up? If a bunch of kids were hurt and crying from a bullying event in class wouldn't you want to know even if your own kid wasn't hit? I didn't expect to be told anything to break privacy rules, but I do believe that parents should be, and want to be informed about these events. Our previous school was very transparent and effective. I've been told by staff that I'm over reacting and stuff like this is not a big deal. Really?! If this is normal for an elementary school then something needs to change. Is this the kind of administration and support you'd want? Even though this post probably won't make things easier on my family, I wish someone would have warned me.

My two nephews are seniors, and my daughter is a freshman, so I’ve seen this from a few different angles. Like anything in life, you tend to get out of the school what you put into it.When parents stay involved, students connect with their counselors, and everyone puts in the effort, the outcomes can be really great. On the flip side, if the expectation is that the school will take on all of the parenting, that can be challenging anywhere—not just at this school.I’m also involved with the marching band program, which has been an amazing experience. I personally know over 30 students who are doing extremely well—many seniors with strong experience and even scholarships lined up.At the end of the day, what you put in really does make a difference.

Horrible, the food gave me food poisoning multiple times, I almost got sexually assaulted in the bathroom, and the staff are more worried about the phone in your pocket than students doing drugs
