About this House

OPEN SAT, 4/17, 1-3PM. MODERN MASTERPIECE SET IN AN URBAN FOREST. This spectacular three-bedroom and three-and-a-half-bathroom custom-built home sits on a corner lot in one of McLean's most sought neighborhood, Franklin Park. The home is ensconced in privacy in its forest-like setting with beautiful landscape and hardscape design creating tremendous curb appeal. The house was custom built by the owner with thought put into every detail of the carefully designed living spaces. Stepping inside, you'll be seduced by the home's overall spacious look and feel, with oversize windows inviting nature inside. Architectural touches include custom woodwork, natural stone, hardwood floors, high ceilings, and dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows providing natural light and expansive views of surrounding nature. The first floor's sprawling space is accentuated by minimal walls. The living room, formal dining room, family room, kitchen, and breakfast room seamlessly transition from one to the other, making this an entertainer's dream. The family room features a gas-ignited fireplace with surround-sound speakers built-in to the overmantel for the ultimate TV viewing experience. Glass doors lead to a beautiful screened-in porch and connecting deck. Adjoining the family room is a newly-renovated (2019) gourmet kitchen featuring professional-grade top of the line KitchenAid stainless steel appliances, including a double oven, two dishwashers, two sinks, and two cooktops! Preparing meals in this space will be a chef's - or multiples chef's - dream. (Whoever warned that there could be too many cooks in the kitchen never saw this one!) Stylish elements include designer lighting, custom cabinets, and generous counters illuminated by under-cabinet lights. An adjacent space with counters will be the ideal place for your friends and family to keep you company (or pitch in!) while you cook. Your family and guests will love meals in the inviting breakfast room, complete with its own fireplace for enhanced intimacy and coziness. On the upper level, you'll discover the jewel in the crown - the breathtaking master suite. The space encompasses its own secluded sitting area with custom built-in bookshelves, a gas fireplace, and comfortable armchairs perfect for settling down with a good book or your favorite magazine before bed. Stylish pocket doors lead to the substantial master bedroom featuring elegant glass doors that lead to your private tree-top balcony. For the ultimate luxury experience, your spa master bath features a luxe deep tub with a skylight above for sumptuous soaks under the stars. Of course, the rest of the master bath is no less opulent with its heated towel rack, glass-enclosed steam shower, double vanity, and separate water closet. Steps away are two enormous walk-in closets, each complete with its own custom built-in shelving. Two additional bedrooms and a full bath complete this level. A sizable bedroom on this level can easily be converted into a home office (as the owners have masterfully done). The cozy and comfortable lowest level of this house features a custom-built wine cellar, multi-purpose area, custom built-ins, hardwood floors, and designer lighting. On this level, the ensuite bedroom/den will be perfect for in-laws or guests and even features its own sizable walk-in closet. There is a large laundry room/auxiliary kitchen and TONS of storage space and easy egress to the oversized attached three-car garage. You'll absolutely love the location of this home. The neighborhood is characterized by its privacy, with charming winding streets weaving through the natural wooded setting. When it's time to leave your retreat, you'll be a stone's throw from the best of McLean and Arlington. Arteries leading to DC, Crystal City, Tyson's Corner, and area airports are within minutes.

"Many sidewalks, parks, close drive to activities, grocery stores, easy access to DC via metro, vehicle, bike, or under. Easy access to DCA and IAD via metro or driving. Numerous social opportunities locally and regionally, local traffic is not terrible. "
  • Ed Tapscott
"I have lived in McLean for more than 30 years. It is a wonderful place to raise oneโ€™s family while being close to downtown DC."
  • Darren
"Enjoy all that the Nationโ€™s Capital has to offer. Also, Tysonโ€™s and McLean offer an extremely rich and diverse restaurant scene!"
  • Ed Tapscott
"Public Transportation is varied and convenient. All of the DC area is accessible from McLean using public transportation."
  • Paigectsmith
"Beautiful homes, very hilly, fairly diverse. It is not necessarily unique, but itโ€™s a beautiful place to live!"
  • Trulia User
"there are many families, this is good information to know so they can make better educated decisions "
  • Trulia User
"The commute to DC is approximately 40-45 mins. The traffic is steady it leaving home around 8:30am. "
  • Trulia User
"Lots of dogs being walked.. sadly, no dog parks for them to run around. But most people have yards they can run in."
  • Corraop
"I lived and worked in the Tyson's Corner area and LOVED it! I lived in the Fountains of McLean, which was in easy walking distance to just about everything. With quick access to the metro, bus, and, (soon to be) via the metro, the airport, there really is no reason to drive (and fight that DC traffic). If you do need to drive, Tyson's is the place to be as you can get get to just about everywhere in the DC area without getting jammed on 95/495 traffic. The the extra "no commute time" I was able to enjoy all the local amenities my condo had including the pool and - due to location - Tyson's Corner shopping and restaurants. Last (but not least), the Fountains of McLean was one of those rare condos that not only allowed pets but had lots of space for the ol' doggo to get his daily walk. Finally, although I didn't have any myself, I have heard that the school system in McLean is second to none! I miss you already, Fountains of McLean!"
  • Chris
"Itโ€™s safe and upscale. Best school zone in Virginia. Tysonโ€™s corner is just 5min drive and both DCA and IAD air ports are with in 30min drive. DC is just 20minutes away as well. "
  • Priscilafunes
