The property is just south of Upton, Wyoming about 1 mile. Other area towns include: Sundance 30 miles, Newcastle 30 miles and Moorcroft 22 miles. Area big game includes antelope and mule deer. Geese and ducks are frequently seen on the reservoirs in the spring and summer. Nearby recreational areas include Keyhole State Park and the Black Hills National Forest.
