I’m a former student that graduated in the class of 2024 and I would recommend this school to anyone! If the rating could go higher than 5 stars I would rate it higher! I was curious about our ranking and decided to scroll down to see some of the comments left about people's experiences. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions but, I have had a very different experience. All schools have flaws that's just how the system is. Mayland is a way for kids who never thought they would be able to afford college get the chance to take them for free. All of the teachers are kind and help each and every student with any class they have even if it's a college class. I know kids who come before and after school to get help. We also get an hour for lunch and all teachers dedicate their lunches to helping students. I have never experienced nor seen any kid being discriminated against. Special education is provided. A teacher comes in and works with students weekly. Kids with learning disabilities get extra time on tests and can move to a different room to work. We have the sweetest guidance counselor who students see all the time for emotional support. I had a family member die recently and every staff member was kind and cooperative with me the whole time I was grieving. As for the principal, she works hard every single day to make our experience better. I was having a bad day and the guidance counselor wasn't at school so, the principal sat with me for a long time and helped me through what I was going through. She sits with every student one-by-one and discusses future plans and helps them to decide what classes they need and want to take. Every student signing up knows the classes can be tough but, their are so many people who are willing to help at the high school and college for every subject. It's a privilege to get to go to Mayland Early College.Student Review2mo ago
