5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSchool has a terrible schedule. The classes are in blocks. One class period lasts for over 2 hours which is insane. Classes go in order: 1st class: 90mins2nd class: 88 mins3rd Class: 130 mins(Lunch 20 minutes)4th class: 87 minutes Not only are none of the classes the same length… but the schools lunch only gives the kids 20 minutes??? This school has terrible peace of mind for these students schedules..Other Review10mo ago15 Reviews - Herschel Jones Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child’s experience at Herschel Jones Middle School, was not good. The administration and teachers are not adequately trained, in teaching strategies for students with ADHD. The school uses suspension instead of following Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) rules, parents and guardians have specific legal protections and procedural steps to challenge this action. However, All too often, the reactions by educators to a student’s misbehavior or challenging academic situation result in suspensions, expulsions, exclusions, class failures, and grade retention. Herschel Jones middle School failed my child miserably and I would not consider sending my kids to this school.Do your homework and look at the statistics. Serving 809 students in grades 6-8, Herschel Jones Middle School ranks in the bottom 50% of all schools in Georgia for overall test scores (math proficiency is bottom 50%, and reading proficiency is bottom 50%). The percentage of students achieving proficiency in math is 15% (which is lower than the Georgia state average of 39%). The percentage of students achieving proficiency in reading/language arts is 28% (which is lower than the Georgia state average of 40%). The statistics speak for itself. The school needs a major overhaul.Parent Review3mo ago10 Reviews - Lillian C. Poole Elementary School

"There is a sidewalk so they can walk their dogs and not be in the road. You don’t ever see stray dogs running around so they don’t have to worry about another dog going after their dog. All of the neighbors are friendly."
