8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageA middle school without any foreign language classes, little to no clubs to join, and the worst parent/teacher communication you could imagine . This is a school that ignores written plans for children with disabilities including IEP‘s and 405 plans. If you attempt involvement, the principal will be of no help to you. He will simply blow you off. The teachers allow the children to fall through the cracks, one child had half his assignments missing in two classes and the parent never received a phone call or email. Do yourself a favor and take your child to Crown Point, Chesterton, or Valparaiso where they can get an appropriate education.Parent Review4y ago2 Reviews - Boone Grove Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOverall PTSC is a great district, but there is always room for improvement. Especially once students reach high school, they should not be punished for excelling. At one point, students who applied to graduate early were barred from walking at commencement or being honored in the academic hall of fame. That being said, I attended Boone Grove from k-12, went on to receive substantial scholarship offers from several universities, and I am now working in a job in my field after graduating with honors. This is a safe school district with small classes and a small overall enrollment. Your child will be a name and a person, not just a butt in the seat here. This is truly a district where overall, the teachers care about the students. Students complain because the teachers "butt in" and are "out of their minds" with some projects, but you can't improve yourself without reaching outside of your comfort zone. I'm sure I complained at the "crazy hard work" at one point, but looking back I was better prepared for the rigors of university study than many of my peers coming from other districts.Student Review14y ago3 Reviews - Porter Lakes Elementary School

"I have dogs but I rarely walk them in my subdivision because it’s so boring. I take my dogs in some of the older neighborhoods because there are more places for my dogs to pee on and it’s a lot more interesting. "

"I couldnt see why they would not like it. The people are friendly and the area is clean. The only issue I could ever see is maybe above average traffic at certain rush hour times. Beyond that I really wouldn't see any issue with the neighborhood."
