"Good town for walks as the sidewalks are well maintained. A nice park. a local PD and fire rescue. A nice convenience store with last minute needed grocery items."

"Surrey Is an awsome bed and breakfast community. We have lived here for five years and would definitely buy here again. The school is very good. The classes are small and the teachers care for the students. There are two routs to Minot ND. each taking between 10 and 15 minutes. It takes us twelve minutes to get to the university, where my daughter attends. Two new bars have opened up in town and are community friendly, enjoyable places to go and even to eat. I find it easier to travel the highway in the winter than to manuever the residential areas in Minot. I get to Walmart faster than most of my friends in Minot. There is a quick exit from the highway to the hospital and also the zoo and parks in minot. The kids in Surrey have almost free travel of the town because it is such a safe area. There are typically more dirtbikes, four wheelers, bicycles and walkers out in the summer than cars. There are also trails for snow mobiles used for other recreation in the summer. The only down sides are; 1) the train noise. You do learn to tune them out, and even may learn to enjoy watching them. 2) there is no coop between Surrey Schools and Minot for hockey. It's popular among the kids but when they hit high school they will have to travel elsewhere to play on a high school team. The town floods a field for ice skating each winter. 3) in town not all areas recieve school bus service. I live three blocks from the school. My children have to walk either to school or a bus stop. When it's - 40* F/C and mom and dad are at work, it pays to find someone to pick up your kids for school, lest thier eyeballs freeze open. Other town favorites are: snow sledding off a big hill near the school. School sports. Summer biology classes at the high school with a lot of outside time and photo bug and plant collecting. Making close and lasting friends, frequenting the corner gas station and the attached resauraunt, and visiting Minot. "
