I would not recommend OHS because my daughter and son, currently enrolled in this school, claim it is unbearable. They say the bathrooms are disgusting and smell awful. They were insulting and disrespectful to my children, and both of them came home with bruises on their knees and faces. They had tripped over a janitor's bucket and mop. They said they hardly learned anything because their teachers were just handing out packets and basically saying, "Here you go, you can figure it out yourself." How ridiculous is that? But they both have decent grades. My daughter is currently struggling with her mental health and engaging in self-harm, she claims that it's from the mental stress that this school puts out on its students. Please do not send your kids to this school, for your sake and for theirs.

As a Student who has attended Ozark till my current junior year have overall had a great experience with the atmosphere and culture of the school. I do have some reservations about respecting privacy aswell as some abuse of power from a few of the staff. I also feel that students in most schools now value the number on a test score over actual education. Again I still believe that this school has done well but still has room to improve.

Students with special needs will be discriminated against, suspended excessively, and singled out if they make even one mistake. I have witnessed this. Principal Wallace prefers to talk about "safety" in regards to dismissing student needs, and refuses to listen to complaints. One teacher was violent, a complaint was made and the principal did nothing because that teacher was retiring, yet the school retained them as a substitute, while outright lying saying they are "no longer an employee." The principal further refers to parents who refuse to accept the discrimination against their child as "butting heads" (his exact words) with the school system. Standards of care, timeliness of reporting all fell to the wayside for special needs or IEP meetings. The school even refused to accept legitimate diagnoses or send curriculum work home, again due to the policies set in place by Principal Wallace. Most of the teachers seem to care, and several I have witnessed yelling at students. Missouri schools still allow spanking legally, and while I have not witnessed that at Ozark North, I feared for my child's safety due to the other discrimination, such as barring them from field trips for past mistakes months or years prior. Because the school held it against my son, they discriminated. I cannot recommend the school to anyone, let alone those with a special needs child.

We loved this school. They helped us so much and everyone was so friendly and welcoming there!!
