This supposed “State of the art” school is not good in just four years after being built the school has not done much in maintaining the school to keep it clean the bathrooms are just vandalized broken and very dirty in one wing the boys bathroom doesn’t even have locks there are plenty of fights certain unreasonable punishments certain favoritism with some teachers/principals with other students as certain students can lie their way through from blatant trouble i have seen a lot of racism and people saying slurs hypocrisy many people are extremely rude and arrogant not much discipline and for lesser situations more harsher punishments are given instead. My point is that the school is very hypocritical, favoritism, poor maintenance and unreasonable rules as the school should take feedback from the students and maintain the school very well and be more neutral.

Wessagusset Elementary School has been a wonderful fit for our family, especially with the recent boost from the mayor's investments in local education—it's really modernized the facilities and resources, making those older reviews online feel completely outdated. My kids are genuinely challenged and engaged every day, thriving in a curriculum that's both rigorous and fun, helping them stay right on track academically while building strong social skills and fitting in seamlessly with their peers.The teachers are fantastic, always going the extra mile with personalized attention in small class sizes, offering homework help sessions and fostering great study habits. Communication is top-notch; emails and calls get quick responses, and the staff truly knows each child by name. The parent council has stepped up impressively over the past two years, becoming more involved and organizing successful events like free after-school clubs, a vibrant running program for healthy habits, and enrichment activities in arts and STEM—all at no extra cost.We've also loved the extracurricular options, including sports teams, music programs, and even a special outdoor adventure camp for upper grades that builds teamwork and confidence. The new principal's leadership has brought fresh energy, with a supportive team including a knowledgeable school nurse who's always there when needed. It's a true community hub in a family-friendly environment, with plenty of ways to get involved without any pressure. If you're seeking a nurturing city school where kids excel and feel at home, Wessagusset is outstanding. We couldn't be happier!

I am a current student in this school and I do not recommend it at all. First off They give us lunch like we are prisoners, I have eaten unhealthy food for the past 3 months. I understand the school will say “oh well it’s free and you can bring your own”… number one I should not have to bring my own I am forced to be here every weekday, and some people can’t afford to bring lunch? So are you saying kids of the lesser benefit don’t deserve a healthy meal? They also don’t teach us anything useful other than maybe math. The teachers are oddly political and it is creepy. I constantly have rainbow flags in my face, listen I don’t care what you are but stop shoving it in my face because I don’t care. There was a unified game day on Friday and a class got told that bringing in an AMERICAN FLAG is inappropriate. This school focuses more about inclusion than anything, my science class has so many people in it we don’t have enough chairs. Yet it’s the last term and nobody has done anything about it? This school is geto and unsafe and I recommend switching to a better school.
