We have been so blessed to have had two daughters go through Desert Mountain. We have LOVED their teachers. If you are looking for a well rounded experience and you want your children to have FUN while learning this is the place!!

We have had multiple incidences of bullying at this school and nothing has changed. There is a teacher that shows young boys her Instagram account and talks about her dates, she allows students not in her class to come in and hang in the back of the classroom. She talks about other students disrespectfully to other classes and although we have complained we have not heard anything back. Please do not send your kids here if you care about their mental health. This environment is not conducive to a healthy learning environment.

I am going to be completely honest. The experience you have at this school will be very different from others depending on your background. I would like to start off by acknowledging how amazing some of the teachers are, especially the English and science departments. They truly do care and I always felt so supported in those classrooms. The principal is also a very kind person. Here is where the school falls incredibly short. The front office workers are not very kind people. They tend to have unkind expressions and almost make it seem like you’re a burden. The school’s staff response is not great when it comes to discrimination of any kind. While the students do tend to center their conversations and jokes around stereotypes and harmful racial comments, I do think that it is more of a community/parenting issue. It can be incredibly distracting and I have personally been impacted by this type of behavior from other students. Specifically a time when I was taking a test and the students at my table planned a triple “K” meeting. I think the school is definitely amazing education wise but in terms of respect and kindness, the school has a very long way to go.
